Schedule Planes ✈, Trains 🚃 and Spaceships 🚀

One Motivation

Effective prioritizing is not based on deadlines or urgency. It is based on results. - Steve McClatchy

Two Thoughts on Scheduling

  • Each scheduler knows there's a trade-off between not enough detail and too much detail. In the end, what we trade for more or less detail is much more important than the detail itself. It is always a matter of time and money.

  • Focusing on operational efficiency is a great way to get promoted. Write down the continuous actions that are taken to support the project. Find ways to reduce the time it takes to complete them. Make sure you promote yourself as you improve these.
